Greetings,
I just received my very own Perry Yung 2.4 Chikusing Shakuhachi! I believe I contain enough etiquette and savvy to not stick this flute up my nose. Past that, I’m not entirely sure how to play it, though I’m very eager to learn. I wrote a year of commission Chakra Resonance meditation music for the Hoshinjutsu martial arts group founded by the late Dr. Glen Morris. I plan on continuing writing similar pieces utilizing the Shakuhachi as well as synthesizers and an assortment of other instruments such as Kalimba, Didgeridoo, etc. I look forward to rummaging through this forum in search of knowledge and perhaps someone in my area to teach me!
Scott Wicks,

Welcome!
If you are so moved, please post some clips of your music from time to time.

30 second samples of each of my meditation albums are on the page above... this is an earlier site of the now: www.meditation-mastery.net which doesn't seem to provide any samples, yet. I'll post other material if/when i've created it.

Welcome, Scott! A teacher is a good thing (er, person) to find, if you can. What DAW do you use for your composing?
Primarily Pro-Tools. I figure if you can't create an acoustic warmth with your transducers (such as microphones and their placement, etc) you should hardly be blaming the recording device for any short comings.
If I had been paying any attention in school, that wouldn't have been a depressing statement.

Hi Scott, and welcome from a Toronto ex-pat now residing in southern Japan (I don't miss the snow much.)
You might try looking up Debbie Danbrook. The last I heard, she was living in TO. It seems that her style would compliment your interests.
