Ricebag! You're back! Or rather to say, you're here! Last time we saw you was on the famous Horst video, eh?
Thanks for the transcription! You can be the Official Sacred Scribe of Knob-U-ryu™

Your Grand Knobier than thou-ness, is the term "shakuperv" (shakuhentai) an oxymoron?
No, it's an OxyMoran. Da-aah.

That's me on the right and Doukyoku Chief of Interrogation on the left. Don't **** with us, we're serious.

Not to be pedantic, but the correct term is "Your Knobiness".
That depends entirely on the intended meaning of the moniker. "Your Knobiness" suggests a multiplicity of knobs; being festooned with knobs as it were.
Whereas, "Your Knobness" suggests being the epitome of all qualities and traites attributed to a knob.
I still vote for the second.

I'm holding out for "Your Knobulicious", myself....

Knobulicious is obviously the adjective form, raising the question, "Your Knoulicious what?"

so it could be "your Exalted Knobiliciousness"

boys, boys.... just to paraphrase Ilona Staller or better known as Cicciolina,
I am available to make love with the testosterone-pompous shakuhachi warriers to achieve peace on the Shakuhachi Forum!
Original quote: She [Cicciolina] announced in September 1990, when it was becoming clear that the Gulf war was inevitable, "I am available to make love with [Iraqi dictator] Saddam Hussein to achieve peace in the Middle East". She renewed the offer in October 2002, when Iraq was resisting international pressure to allow inspections for weapons of mass destruction

Obviously Chikuzen and Ed had the best idea with "Grand Knobier". It can be an iemoto and you can also drink it.

To correct some careless translating:
First, my own contribution:
rpowers wrote:
レジスター 霊慕 (Yearning for the register bell)
is better represented as "Yearning for the Ka-ching."
The second is my own title here on the forum.
"Acolyte" is only a very rough equivalent; the more apt translation would be "Boy Wonder."

I second the nomination and by executive order pronounce Ed's and Chikuzen's bottle of Grand Knobier as the Supreme Object of Reverence and Submission -- and to be the new Grand Banana and High Iemoto of the newly Reformed & True Knob-U-ryu™

You thought there was feuding before? Now that they know what the "peace pill" is.... I can see the warriors putting on their armor now!

Naahhh... Chikuzen.
The thread that was really lively died out quite quickly after my offer... I guess I can't compete with neither Cicciolina's looks nor her reputation. Oh well!
I just thought a little feminine humoristic input could calm things down... and it did!

Well, actually, some of us knew this and the rest are in the process of admitting it to their deluded selves.
The photo is quite interesting though. There's not much hidden here except for the shakuhachi!

Bruce, next time I am in California I'll invite you for a whole night of drinks in town!
And we can play some of the wonderful transcribed music you do! THAT could be fun!

the notations from bamboo-in were the first notations that i saw , they are great , i loved them , but soon i found them gone , what a pity !
yes , there is no reason to get the notations freely , but to me , i am from shenzhen China , there are nothing fingerings or notations or books even CDs here , how should i do to learn shakuhachi , in China , so hard for a young guy to get International Credit Card , i can not pay for the subjects , i really thanks that notations kept my enthusiasm to the Honkyus .
i think Mr .Justin can not image the credit card system in china , it just like lock lock lock . i really thanks the guy share the things which could keep my self-teaching shakuhachi . Mr. Justin , copyright could feed you , but do not help to me .

Dear Chattemao
It takes a lot of time, energy and money to produce the notation so it's good that people are willing to pay for that. Although sharing or distributing those scores freely does feel convenient for us when we study, in the end it makes the work of publishing far harder, especially as the shakuhachi community is really quite small. I was quite resistant to paying for scores in the beginning, but now I see that it is a very positive thing.
I appreciate your situation about credit cards. How about other payment methods - can you at least get paypal? That might help.
If that does not solve your problem or you are unable to get Paypal, please contact me through my email address (either the "email" link on the forum or through my website) and I will do my best to help you buy whatever you need from Japan and have it sent to you.
Best wishes

Hi Chaton
Sorry I did not realise it was you as your name was not displayed. If your bank is not on the list, perhaps you could open an account with one which is on the list. Or in the end it may be down to the Chinese government's restrictions on Chinese currency transfer. Other than that you could perhaps send a postal cheque (if they have them in China) or send money by post or via someone you know. Good luck.
