Regarding "fu ho u" notation, by request of my Shimpo-ryu teacher Otsubo Shido, I am now teaching Shimpo-ryu in the original old Myoan "fu ho u" notation for any of you who may have interest in this. Shimpo-ryu "fu ho u" notation (this is the old Kansai style of honkyoku notation) is similar to but different from Chikuho notation. Sakai Chikuho took the old Myoan notation as the basis for the 5 main notes of his system, but changed most of the rest of the system, creating his unique new style. I didn't realise the extend which Chikuho had changed the system until recently, so I will now edit my previous post on page 1 of this thread since reading Chikuho-ryu style does not actually enable one to read Shimpo-ryu notation.
