I have been attempting to decipher the notation used by Watazumi for the pieces transcribed in the Annals of the International Shakuhachi Society volume 2
This is what I have come up with. Please let me know if you agree with this chart or disagree. Please provide what you think the symbols should represent. I am also wondering about the slashes above and to the right of some of the characters (There is an arrow pointing to them). Sometimes there is only one slash. Is there a way to know when to go kan or otsu? Does anyone know where to get other Watazumi scores? Did he use any notation other than that represented in the Annals transcriptions? Thank you.

I don't know about Watazumi style notation but in standard Japanese ホ [Ho] with the two dots is read as ボ [Bo]

Hello,
I had been trying to figure out the Watazumi notation a while back. I figured out the basics.
So the slashes you mentioned are for otsu and kan. One slash is otsu and two is for kan.
I'll have to go back over what I had figured out... its been a while.

This is the updated fingering chart. It should be more comprehensive and accurate. Please let me know any suggestions/corrections you may have.
