30 years ago.At the party after a theatrical performance ,from a tape the music of a bamboo flute.longer than 1.8 Shaku.
No Urushi,Jinashi,a piece of bamboo."It" played.
That was I was looking for, after spending five years with a bunch of artists travelling with a circus tent around Germany.
I did not want to see an actor any more,I did not want to see a musician any more,I did not want to see a dancer anymore,I wanted
to see dance,an act, listen to music.
In order to keep the performer humble and able to listen and receive more than to "act"I tought the tight rope would be a challenge and had the actors say their lines while concentrating on their navel and balance on the rope.
Still ,for westerners it is difficult to let go and face "Ma",the phenomen of space and time or understand, that the echo is important ,not the sound itself.
"It" was playing.Somebody was played.
So I went to Japan and learned to play shakuhachi from a humble man,who died 4 years after he accepted me as a student.Than became a member of the Komuso (Kiri -no-Kai) < Fuke Shu > in Higashi Yoshino (Nara prefecture) und organized a tour through Germany and Poland for the Komuso
monks. At the end we prayed for those who had been murdered in Ausschwitz. To find out more about the Koten Honkyoku I started walking the pilger trails of the Yamabushi(Mountain ascets)Now,I play in shrines ,temples, city halls, with other musicians or Solo,at weddings,at celebrations ,for the villagers ,where I live,or,in the morning for the tree at the shrine .

Welcome Uwe,
I remember an article and a picture of you in the annals, playing shakuhachi on a slack rope.
Just looked it up and reread Annals Vol.2 pg 37
