I am performing two original shakuhachi compositions based on improvisation - a new folk inspired shakuhachi and drum duet celebrating the Lunar New Year and an excerpt from SLANT’s Achipelago based on the poetry carved on walls by Chinese immigrants on Angel Island, San Francisco circa 1860's. Joining me on percussions will be local multi-instrumentalist and composer Tony Silva.
