Blowing meditations...

During this week, I started to practice ro buki with eyes closed and staying like this I addressed my eyes to look to the "third eye" (between the brows)... It makes me feel a great energy growing around me, more than when I was simply exercising ro buki looking at front wall.

I would like to know if there is some practices which are not commonly (or maybe common but unknown to me) published. Maybe these are not passed  to common people (something esoteric). And if there is some well known practices, where I can find them or at least know what they talk about?

Peace.

Re: Blowing meditations...

I don't know of anything like that specifically for shakuhachi, but for some simple, less esoteric exercises in listening meditation (with some info on shakuhachi as well) see http://dharmasong.com

Re: Blowing meditations...

Musgo, here are some thoughts.
Esoteric simply means 'hidden' or something you have not yet discovered.

Meditation is any activity that is mindful. Mind Full. This suggests that much of what we do is not mindful, not meditative.

Why meditate ?
1. To discover things that we have not yet discovered, to investigate, create, explore, engage in unfolding aspects of life and to have a continuous sense of discovery.

2. To promote serenity, calm. When calm we are more receptive, less biased.

3. To purify any unwholsome conditionings, to clear neurosis, paranoia, fears of things that intrinsically are no longer harmful.

4. To become free from being subject to the 'push and pull' of daily life, and to be secure in this freedom.

With these in mind look at our motivation to do whatever it is we are doing. Why am I blowing Shakuhachi ?
To discover new dimensions.
To develop tranquility.
To promote a wholesome attitude and destroy unwholesome attitudes.

Consider meditation to be the development of mindfulness, being fully present and interested.
I believe that if a natural interest is present then there will be a natural unfolding and discovery of the esoteric.

Kel.

Re: Blowing meditations...

The pamphlet of Dharmasong Publications called Listening, by  Nyokai, is a really inspiring reading...

Take a look and open your ears...
