Listen to Obama play the Shakuhachi!
That Obama is really pretty damn good. I know he's young and a little non-traditional, and people say he's not really American...but wow, does he play the heck out of the shakuhachi.

That song comes from his CD also entitled "The Sea Wave and Camellia." It's a CD filled with all of his own compositions and duets with various instruments. He studies under Ishikawa Toshimitsu but he also studies with a minyo player, who really influences his own compositions. I think you can buy it from either Mejiro, the Hogaku Journal internet shop, or directly from him on his website(he speaks English fairly well):
