I made a loveley 2.0 root end, with one problem, I opened the bell too much into an organic flair, and lost volume on Ro.
I am looking for ideas on how to close it up again. This flute is no longer in my posession so I will be sending ideas to the present owner. It is made from black bamboo, not expensive but does have a nice sound and balance. I am thinking of cork or paper maché to trial it with. Rather than a more complex laquer, perhaps a auto body filler.
Any ideas, anyone had to do this before ?
Regards,
Kel.

Cork and papier mache are both really light, acoustic-energy wasting materials... lots of air space. I recomment something denser - why not turn it out of a ring of bamboo?

Good point Evan, thanks, I am thinking of something to 'trial' that the wide bell is causing the volume loss. I now think that clay or pastry would do the job. Then an epoxy resn.
