Josef Beuys, Greens and Dada

This is the photo of Beuys that Tairaku was commenting on in the Jin Nyodo thread:

Josef Beuys, photo of his performance piece in NYC "Coyote: I Like America and America Likes Me"

My comments:
Beuys was a German artist and co-founder of the original Greens party. Favorite sculptural materials were yards of grey-brown felt and huge slabs of (real) fat. A successor to Marcel Duchamp and a mentor to Bruce Nauman. Bueys is credited with the saying "Every man is an artist," however he would be the first one to warn you not to take that phrase literally.
