Inspired by the discussion of baseball and pine tar elsewhere.
My friends and kind have called my shakuhachi the following:
"takahashi"
"shakarachi"
"shakahachi"
"blowstick"
"Blowstick" is kinda funny the first 10 times.
Regrettably, no one has called it "shakahoochie". I keep waiting for that one.

One of my co-workers called it a "Shakazulu"

My in-laws had it as "sakahoozie" a couple of times. Once as "shakahachoo". But they're in their mid-80s, so they have an excuse. I love them anyway....
