Hi All, For those in and around New York City Aug 16 - 29th 2009
I'm performing excerpts from a show I co-created with Maura Donohue in 2005 called Jet Stream for the New York City Fringe Festival 2009. The bits will include a PVC shakuhachi made live on stage, an original structured improvisation for three shakuhachi - jiari, jinashi and PVC - and a new original composition written by Richard Ebihara for accordion, voice and shakuhachi. It will be a fun and energetic evening of works from five of New York City's hottest choreographers (warning: there will be topless female nudity in one of the works).

Rock on, Perry! That looks really cool. If I wasn't 3,000 miles away I'd be there in a New York minute.
All the best

Jim, you obviously overlooked the line:

I'm glad you've escaped. Ever since the Bush administration prison stuff really freaks me out. There was a band of Shakuhachi Ninjas coming to get you but I think they stumbled onto a large cask of high grade sake and got waylaid. As far as the topless female nudity goes I'm pleased to say we've got that here too.
Now that your on the lam it's your perfect chance to put on the tengai and become a komuso.

Perry,
Hey man. I'll make a point of checking it out. Likely the 27th. Looks fascinating.
Hope it goes well for you.

Great! St.Marks Place is like Little Tokyo these days. Wanna go for a bite after?
Chris, I'll get you on the guess list if you can make your way out!

So true about St Marks man. Some good grocery shopping there now!
Food after sounds very good. I'll plan on it...(time-lapse)...Alright, just got a ticket. Stoked.

Hey All, There's a slight change in my set. I won't be performing the PVC Shakuhachi making section due to debris left of stage (no time to clean up for the dancers after us). Also, the accordion piece will be replaced with a song written for acoustic guitar, voice and two shakuhachi.
See you there!
