Edo Muisc Lec/Dem Columbia University NYC Oct 8

Greetings.
Yoko Hiraoka and Ralph Samuelson will be giving a lecture demonstration about Japanese classical music next week at Columbia University.  This is on Thursday, October 8, at 5 p.m.-- Dodge Hall, room 112.  Please see the attached poster announcing the program.  I hope you can come!

Also, for those of you who might be in a traveling mood, there will be a full concert at Wesleyan University in Middletown Connecticut  on Friday, October 9.  This is in Wesleyan's World Music Hall.  There is a preperformance lecture at 7 p.m. and then the concert at 8 p.m..  The concert program will include the beautiful classical piece Hagi no Tsuyu; the premiere of a wonderful new composition for shamisen, voice, and shakuhachi by Ned Rothenberg; and other pieces.
