as i have said, it's only passed down for obvious reasons. you may dismiss it as ufo, yet ufo is not pot. neither one of us has seen one. in order to improve your shakuhachi, i suggest the sound of silence first. btw, i am sure it's not all about "money."
Chris Moran wrote:
I 've always been a supporter of the idea of medial marijuana and the decriminalization of marijuana possession or cultivation in small amounts not for resale.
I have had friends that have used medical marijuana successfully. Marijuana as a recreational substance is fine by me. Heck, the best advertisement for recreational marijuana may be that Louis Armstrong smoked it every day of his adult life.
Despite my present avatar, I am not a marijuana smoker, nor use other intoxicants (except shakuhachi, of course).
Just two comments, one a little more detailed than the second.
The web article on http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/101.html, 'Hempen culture in Japan,' is pretty nicely organized and from a point of craft, adequately written.
I find the article's arguments about Japanese cultural validation of marijuana use about as compelling as an article from Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods arguing for the advances of the human race being dependent on UFO visitors.
There is a lots of speculation about "evidence," some of it even tantalizing if speculation is your thing.
Unfortunately none of the sources cited in the endnotes of the article are good, live links. If one is offering a theory as controversial as this I would think that the presenting article would cite more than just a couple of sources -- preferably ones that are accessible.
The site on the whole quite obviously has an axe to grind, perhaps a whole arsenal of axes to grind. "Legalizing" marijuana is a business proposition. A lot of people stand to make a lot of money, billions, with "legalization."
Nothing to me as boring as a bunch of businessmen trying to see how they can turn a buck -- or people trying to aggrandize themselves as saints, leaders or martyrs of a "cause" with such a strong commercial interest.
The second comment:
Now I think I'm going to go start an article on how beating small children and kittens may improve your shakuhachi playing.

Gishin, hold onto your Zen horses........I scoured the internet and finally found some evidence that komuso did in fact imbibe of the sacred herb before playing shakuhachi.

Now this is how you justify your bullshit? This is sad we are truly infested by a fucktard troll here. How doe sit make this guy a monk cauz he is Asian on a pic? Even if he was a monk what does it say what does it prove?
If I posted pics of my banging my wife does it automatically make me a porn star????
Now before this thread gets any worst here is a recap of what we are actually talking about. It is all about me saying that you are talking about stuff that makes no sense and has no real and direct historical facts. Then you came on and tried so hard to justify this made up twisted theory of yours. Now why who does it serve? Why spread inaccurate information?

Gishin, I don't get it. You're a Zen Priest. You puff the magic dragon. And you blow jiari. Doesn't that pretty much prove that Zen Priest get wasted while jamming out on some honkyoku? You're the evidence that proves Molado's claims.

Hell yes! Man we can use this way of researching historical stuff. Just make links in your head match it with what you like or see and then it becomes a serious theory why because you the thinker came up with it. Man lets apply it to science and all.
Ha Molado thank you fro reprogramming my brain.

"Now this is how you justify your bullshit?"
i wonder why you are so sensitive around me? btw, is "this" only thing that justify my "bullshit?" i've said quite a few to you. i hope that you can take some as your mental medicine.
"This is sad we are truly infested by a fucktard troll here."
i am not faceless like you when making comments nor do i try to backstab someone. besides, your "fucktard troll" has no relevancy to current conversation. i sincerely doubt if you had any or true master at all in your life.
"How doe sit make this guy a monk cauz he is Asian on a pic?"
what's "asian" got to do with someone being a monk?
"Even if he was a monk what does it say what does it prove?"
some monks have used cannabis for centuries, even until now, despite some false propaganda from the west, which in reverse have poisoned certain minds during recent years.
"If I posted pics of my banging my wife does it automatically make me a porn star????"
yes, porn. no, not a star.
"no real and direct historical facts."
read the articles in the links i've provided above. at least, you can try to read. you see, a sensitive subject like cannabis had to be told secretly. any records are dismissed. you can see this from textbooks. all were forbidden. now, at least in california, the conversation is possible. and yes, zen monks also have used cannabis. sorry to break the news to you. please do your research.
"twisted theory of yours"
which is?
"Now why who does it serve?"
i see that you are taking an advantage of a situation for some picture, which only makes you little.
"Why spread inaccurate information?"
again, which is?

where in my claim do you find that "a zen priest. you puff the magic dragon. and you blow jiari." have you lost your track or are you trying to intentionally misguide? do you know there are two things here. your japanese komuso has nothing to do with cannabis suizen. does this clarify some for you?

it seems your brain is not the only issue, but in any case you are welcome? do your research. don't presume. don't confuse. you may want to make others think that i was talking about komuso, but as you can see, i know your real agenda. your love seems to be one-sided. i hope you are the one being loved. good luck with your life as well as your health. i hope that the cannabis treatment is helping you.
deeply,
molado

I'm intrigued that this conversation is going on for so long! For anyone who has not seen Molado's video being referred to as the source of this debate, here is a direct quote from the video:
"First of all, cannabis has been using, has been in using for, thousands of years including in Japan. Err... the err.... [pause]
They have been using cannabis in, for example like in 7th to er 9th century .. err .. in suizendou err suizen sui is obviously to breath in and zen is, you know, a way, err... practice, and dou is a way of. So it's breathing meditation, breathing, the way of, err... getting to ..... that vwam of bleet snift.. er blissfulness, with blowing meditation.
But anyway in suizendou err... err.. they use, they th- they have been use [adjusts sunglasses] err, cannabis he he! You can look into it. You can look it up and everything, the use of err of cannabis in meditation, especially in err blowing meditation err..... but em.... cannabis itself can help you, as well. You can.. as- as you medicate, with cannabis, you can easily meditate, as well. And seems like people, certain people they kinda, relate that with something spiritual, but it's more your brain, and and em, how you and your body reacting to the er certain chemicals, your err, your cannabinoid receptors. So there you are, cannabis has been used in "suizendou" in Japan since the 7th century for getting to the vwam of bleet snift.

It would be hard to understate how important the vwam of bleet snift is to your efforts to keep your tissue up. I'm sure this applies equally to the shakuhachi players and to the porndogs out there.

His point is that the only proof you have are your erroneous claims. In your video you say that in JAPAN they've been using cannabis since the 7th to 9th century in Zen circles. The title of your video is "Therapeutic uses of cannabis WITH Shakuhachi blowing meditation". Now, Cannabis+Shakuhachi+Zen+Japan+Breathing +Meditation+7th to 9th century. Ok, are you following me here? So, here is my question, AGAIN, clear and simple:
WHERE IS THE PROOOOOF?
Offline
"the vwam of bleet snift"
i am sure you know i meant "the realm of blissfulness." excuse my english since it's not my first language nor the second. as i get older i noticed that my english needs more effort. i will not point out how i feel about you, since you seem to enjoy someone's hardship. i'll say this. tissue is not only for sniffles and cums. tissue can be easily burn as well. it is your decision what to do with your tissue. hope you get my drift.
