Wow! More nice tattoos!
One of my shakuhachi students is a tattoo master. He is German. Fantastic mellow guy and he has good ears!

Harry and Brian, you wouldn't be allowed into many onsens here with that ink. People get pretty freaked-out by that type of display. Reminds them too much or organized crime.

They are part of the shakuhachi mob ;-) I need to get a tattoo too!

The thought has crossed my mind, but I like onsen too much.

If you want to really make some extra $ and have time then make the suckers pay. It is illegal to refuse entrance to onsen/sento because of race Tattoo etc a couple of people have sued with great success. Most Japanese are ignorant of the fact or not just they try their luck to satisfy customers or just their xenophobia. So I only had trouble once about it and I clearly expressed I wanted to see the manager get proper contacts etc cauz I would sue them especially because they told me it was because it was associated with crime humm ok so you assume I have criminal ties? This is usually the lame excuse they will give and this can be sued for quite easy.

Gee, Gishin, what a lovely thought!!!

Gishin, I don't recall you posting photos of your tattoos here on the gallery.....

The Gishin has some serious bad-ass tatoo'ery. If he were dressed as a biker in a dark Quebec alley I would be very nervous
:-)

Well when I was looking at some of the pics on this thread it looked like a bunch of guys trying to arouse each other. In any case I feel this was a bot of a showoff which I dislike.
Anyway if you want to see my irezumi show me some booty and I will show you mine maybe

Well even though my tattoos are not Komuso related, they are Japanese and Chinese related.
Here is the first:
Hiroshige's Owl in a pine tree from 1832 and also the poetry with it:
And finally my tea leaf :
I love tattoos!!

Those are great tattoos Jim! Are they relatively new? Did you get them done locally?

The owl is recent. The Tea leaf is from a few months back and all the rest I have not shown from ages back.
Here are a few more:

(To commemorate my marathons and half marathons as I'm a long distance runner)
My Mahler tattoo:
And my Journey Scarab:
All of my work was done in Portland,Oregon at Pearl District Tattoo by Doug Auld.

BTW.... I have to have part of the tattoo touched up this week and am seriously considering having the Kanji for Shakuhachi added on my arm as I have a small space just perfect for it! I wonder if I should......

I second Tairaku's sentiments. Get 尺八 on your next visit to Doug
