Hi everyone here!

Hello from WA - the most remote capital city i know of.

I have started to make a .ning network related to shakuhachi making and would love to get the forum involved (if that's ok)

Basically it is very similar in layout to cigarboxnation.com and I have contributed a couple of groups to that website that has demonstrated that people love to share pics about their hobby.

Anyway - please let me know if this is ok. don't get me wrong, i have just joined the forum and have found it helpful - I just note that to really get organic development of any hobby you need as many cooks as possible.

Currently it is called shakuhachi central at ning - and I am in the painstaking process of setting it up. So any ideas advice, pics etc feel free to join and contribute...could be a lot of fun...even if it is a little low-brow for such a highbrow hobby.

I realise that ning will probably not be free for ever but I will deal when the time comes....

Thanks for reading -

Kindest Regards,

Will Carter

Hi Will,
Sounds a like a great idea. Please feel free to contact me directly if you need any pics of shakuhachi making from beginning to end.

Good luck on the project.

Right on, welcome to the forum. Are there any teachers out there? I don't think so.

Re: Hi everyone here!

Yeah Brian - there is perhaps a player in WA, no teachers that I am aware of (starting to become more of an issue as the days go by and my tooting progresses at the rate of youtube...)
Perhaps in fifty years I will  be ok to play informally, right now it seems like an almost insurmountable goal to play at all. Great to touch base with you!
