This is great stuff! I'm gonna rent the DVD and synchronize it.
Phil, it would be cool if you could fill us in a little on the creative process behind all this, if you have time...

This is a project Lori Goldston put together in late 2009 and the audio link is for a concert we did in the middle of a blizzard in New York City in March, 2010. The concert and recording were from a series on New Sounds WNYC
Lori does a lot of soundtrack composing for new and old films. This project she put together is only working on silent films of Yasujiro Ozu, our performances are always live to the showing of the films. So the score is hers, yet there is quite a bit of improvisation within the structures. There was also a fair amount of input to the score from myself and Greg and it is an ongoing colllaboration and development.
Since i live in California and Lori and Greg are in Seattle, rehearsals are sporadic as are the 3 performances so far in Oakland, NYC and Chicago. More to come, later this year, most likely in the northwest. i really enjoy working with the 2 of these wonderful musicians and fine people.
This trio very much has memories of Matthew Sperry in mind as all 3 of us were close friends and worked with him in different projects. We know each other because of Matthew.
