Mujitsu and Tairaku's Shakuhachi BBQ

Greetings!

I am Deven. Currently I am at my home in the city of Surat (Gujarat, India).
I am a beginner at playing Shakuhachi and I can play all basic notes and now trying to learn meri notes.

I mostly learnt myself until I took  one lesson from my teacher while I was studying in Montreal.
Now since I don't think there are any teachers where I live now, I will take skype lessons from someone on the other side of the world :)
From what I have read, learning myself seems harmful as I can make mistakes.

I am also studying Japanese language and I am going to learn calligraphy as well.
I don't think I have natural abilities at music or painting. But I believe I can do well with practice.
I don't yet understand what I want to achieve by learning to play Shakuhachi.
I am motivated by the sound it makes and the peace of mind I get from it.
