Are you only making shakuhachi?

Are you guys only building shakuhachi, or are you making any other kinds of flutes?
Or even other instruments?

At one time, I also made transverse flutes, panpipes, Native American style and other fipple flutes, as well as bamboo didjeridus. I also made a few mandolins. Shakuhachi was always my main focus. Eventually, I stopped making other instruments all together on concentrated exclusively on shakuhachi.

Re: Are you only making shakuhachi?

Like many here I have also made transverse bamboo flutes and other end blown type flutes.  I’m wondering how those of you that focus on shakuhachi survive without getting distracted.

I commend that kind of focus and I often think it would be great to have that kind of direction...how do you know when it's time to put things aside?

When the high point of your day is blowing through a bamboo tube!

Actually, it's the high point of the day because it's an opportunity to put other things aside.
