Alternative laqcuers

Hello everybody.. as usual I am cramping more threads into the forum. I'm way too much into this now.
I've been surfing laqcuers for three days now... at work!

We have discussed this in another thread but I thought it would be a good idea to have a "lacquer-thread".
As many know urushi is hard to come by in europe and is also a bit hard to handle.
So... several other suggestions have come up: Shellac, cashew, tung oil etc...

I'm thinking of trying a glossy acrylic lacquer inside the bore. They come in several deep colors. Red and black is widely available.
The brand I found is called "FOLKART GLOSS" and it is suitable for outdoor objects, so it should hold up to bore duty. It cures in 48 hours so
it seems rather heavy duty. Glossy and water based.

What do you think? Is acrylic based laqcuer anything that will degrade the quality of the shakuhachi?
Is it a problem that it's water based?
Could I/should I  tung-oil the bore first and lacquer over it?

What alternatives have you used?

// Chris the Swede.

PS. Sorry for going on and on and asking all these questions, but there is nobody around in Sweden that I know of that make flutes.
You guys are my only chance to learn enough before destroying any of my hard to come by bamboo DS.
