The interest for ji-nashi shakuhachi is growing rapidly. We, therefore, thought a specified ji-nashi topic would add to our forum. All posts regarding ji-nashi shakuhachi should be posted here, except if it is on flute making. Then you should post it in the flute making section where experts on that topic will be moderating.

The ji-nashi shakuhachi is the type of shakuhachi used in the Edo period with no filler (ji) added to the bore. But its popularity is rapidly growing and many makers make ji-nashi today.

You can also, in this section, post questions regarding ji-mori shakuhachi, which is shakuhachi that is almost ji-nashi, but with a little ji added here and there for tuning.
