Hello everyone,
I just moved to Amagasaki last week. Anyone know of any teachers here? If not, no worries, I know of teachers in Osaka, but in Amagasaki would be really easy. I can't actually start for a while because I'm on a tight budget until I get a new job. Just want to know who's available when the time comes.

Hi Bogert,
I believe Ishikawa Toshimitsu, a student of Yokoyama Katsuya teaches in Amagasaki, or at least really close to it. There are also 2 Tozan ryu teachers that kive there, but I will have to dig a little to find there adresses. Do you want me to look a little?

Hello Josh,
Yeah sure thanks. I haven't actually looked yet.. I'll search around too, but if you find the info send it my way. Don't go out of your way though. Thanks.

Here's a few:
Ishikawa's place is in Kobe's Nada-ku. He's a great player and a great teacher. His English site is here:

Here is a link for Yoshimura Koumei, he is actually in Nishinomiya, but it's close (looks like he speaks a bit of English too):

Here is a Shin Tozan ryu player named Morita Kouzan, the only one I could find who was actually based in Ama:

Thanks Josh. Yoshimusa Koumei I'm pretty sure was my Washington state shakuhachi teacher's teacher.
My last teacher spoke no English, it made the lessons very enjoyable.
I probably learned the most from him even though I couldn't always understand all he was saying.
I'm pretty sure I know where the Shin Tozan player teaches, I walked by that building on the weekend. I'll check it out.
Thanks for all the info.
